Job Description:
Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to
the Lodging Facility at Robins AFB. Loads and unloads heavy boxes,
bulky supply materials, furniture to and from trucks, dollies, etc.
Moves furniture, refrigerators, mattresses, box springs,
televisions, and video player/recorders by hand from truck or
dolly. Maintains supply and equipment storage rooms, keeping these
rooms clean and orderly. Responsibilities The purpose of this
position is to work and lead other employees engaged in performing
maintenance tasks, involving the use of common hand tools and

required occasionally to pick up merchandise on and off base using
a government owned vehicle. Waters lawn as needed. Removes weeds
from flowerbeds as directed. Picks up all litter and debris on
lawns and sweeps walks, porches, and stairwells as necessary.
Cleans walls, laundry rooms, and halls by scrubbing, sweeping,
mopping, vacuuming, etc. Cleans shampoo machine, wet/dry vacuums,
tools, and other equipment as needed. Separates assignments.
Assures that work schedules are adhered to by employees. Assigns
personnel various tasks handed down by the maintenance supervisor
and/or from checking various maintenance request logs and cards.
Applies a basic knowledge of carpentry, painting, electric and
plumbing in performing minor maintenance of equipment and self-help
construction of buildings. Occasionally uses a hand drill, hammer,
screwdriver, wood scraper to accomplish these tasks. Select,
measure and cut using carpentry tools. Performs minor painting
using brushes, sandpaper, and spray paint. Installs and replaces
electrical parts such as ceiling fans, switches, and wall outlets.
Perform routine maintenance on various a/c units. Replace plumbing
fixtures and clear drains. Requirements Conditions of Employment

time constraints of work assignments. Must be able to follow oral
and/or written instructions and determine tools, materials and
personnel required to perform tasks. Must be able to evaluate work
being performed, identify problems, and obtain required
information/decisions from supervisor. Must be able to follow oral
or written instructions and speak English. Education Some federal
jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required
experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for
