of Mathematics faculty instruct students from across campus,
including undergraduate and graduate students. Its faculty carry
out research in a wide variety of Mathematical Sciences. The School
is a key partner in several programs at Georgia Tech, including PhD
programs in Bioinformatics, Quantitative Biosciences,
Biostatistics, Algorithms, Computation and Optimization,
Computational Science and Engineering, and Machine Learning.

Job Summary
at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in Atlanta
Georgia, invites applications for the Elaine M. Hubbard Chair in
Mathematics. It is expected that the appointment will be at the
level of full professor, although applications are encouraged from
candidates at any stage of their career. Priority will be given to
those candidates with a demonstrated research record of exceptional
quality in analysis, broadly interpreted. Candidates are expected
to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the teaching and
mentoring of students.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include continuing an internationally recognized
research program that engages students at all levels; collaborating
across the university in research and grant efforts; teaching
undergraduate and/or graduate courses; engaging with curriculum
development to meet on-going needs for training a STEM focused
student body; and delivering service to the department, Institute,
and profession at a level commensurate with a senior chaired
faculty member at Georgia Tech.
Required Qualifications
A PhD or its equivalent in a mathematical science is required for
this position.
Preferred Qualifications
(1) an established record of research of exceptional quality in
analysis, broadly construed; (2) complement existing strengths in
the School of Mathematics; (3) enhance connections to programs and
Institutes at Georgia Tech; (4) have a demonstrated record of
external funding; (5) demonstrate enthusiasm for supervision of
junior researchers at all levels; (6) contribute to other School of
Math and Georgia Tech strategic priorities, including intra- and
interdisciplinary connections, and (7) contribute to the Student
Success Criteria below.
