Job Description:
Job Summary The Production Operator – Specialty Coatings Mixer
is responsible for the setup and operation of equipment which
blends, mixes, packages, and transports liquid or dry chemicals
that comprise our customer products. The position ensures the
highest quality product at the lowest possible costs while meeting
customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance
with Corporation policies and procedures. This role reports to our
first shift, which operates Monday through Thursday, 5:00 am – 3:30
pm. May require mandatory overtime on Fridays and every other
Saturday. Essential Functions Sets up, starts, and runs all
machinery, checking all controls for adherence to operating and
safety procedures and ISO standards. Weighs ingredients to meet
recipe specifications and inserts into machinery, or ensures the
correct ingredients are delivered to the work area and inserts
pre-blended materials into machinery. Monitors production and
equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Troubleshoots
equipment and processing issues. Operates machinery to mix,
discharge, or handle materials according to operating procedures.
Examines materials visually or physically to ensure conformance
with established standards. May take samples of materials to the
lab for evaluation and instructions on any batch adjustments if
needed. Refers issues or problems to the Production Lead or
Production/Shift Supervisor for disposition. Performs all required
machine cleaning. Completes and maintains all required system
inputs and transactions. Responsible for data integrity. Documents
work completed as required, including logs, data reports,
procedures, etc., into the computer system (SAP). Participates in
training, retraining, and continual improvement processes and
methods. Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and
regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards. Other
duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience High
School Diploma or GED 1-2 years of proven experience in a
manufacturing environment required. Experience in a
mixing/blending, pharmaceutical, industrial food, colorants, or
additives environment is strongly preferred. 1 year of Forklift
Experience – Required Additional Qualifications Demonstrates
abilities in prioritization, multi-tasking, and problem-solving
while maintaining strong attention to detail. Computer proficiency

Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to lift and/or move up to 55 lbs. The employee
is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or
feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently
required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop,
kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities
may require close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the
ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job,
the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts,
toxic or caustic chemicals, and fumes or airborne particles. The
noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office noise
