Job Description Job Description Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 a year Position Title: Warehouse Operations Lead Reports to: Logistics Manager Position Location: Fayetteville, Georgia Summary/Objective: The Warehouse Operations Lead position plays a critical role in maintaining the smooth and efficient operations of the warehouse. This position is for a Working Lead and requires a blend of leadership skills and hands-on involvement in daily tasks to ensure operations run according to schedule and meet organizational goals. This position performs tasks involving physical labor, including dock and yard operations, and requires exceptional attention to detail, leadership, strong mental aptitude and the ability to provide effective and professional verbal and written communication. Responsibilities: Inventory Management: Oversee and maintain inventory levels and ensure accurate tracking of products in and out of the warehouse. Order Picking: Ability to identify, pull, count and package components necessary to prepare and complete shipments. Physical Labor: Participate in dock and yard operations, including loading and unloading goods, using hand and power tools, and operating forklifts while safely handling overlength as well as heavy articles. Shipping Preparation: Stack pallets and build protective shipping crates to ensure that products are stored and transported safely, minimizing the risk of damage during transit. Shipment Coordination: Coordinate the timely and accurate processing of shipments, including paperwork and photographs, while ensuring that all orders are prepared and loaded as scheduled. Employee Supervision: Supervise warehouse staff, assigning daily tasks, providing training, and ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols and company policies. Operational Oversight: Monitor daily operations, identifying areas for improvement, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing workflows to maximize efficiency. Procurement of Warehouse Supplies: Responsible for managing and maintaining an adequate supply of materials required for warehouse operations. This includes procuring and controlling inventory related to pallets, cribbing, and packaging supplies. Warehouse Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and repair of warehouse equipment. This includes ensuring that machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks and other essential tools are in safe working condition, minimizing downtime, and ensuring optimal efficiency in warehouse operations. Safety Protocol Enforcement: Ensure all warehouse employees follow established safety protocols. Responsible for training warehouse staff in the best practices while mentoring and coaching staff. KKnowledge and Skill Requirements: Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Warehouse forklift (ride-on) Certification Experience: 5 years of warehouse operations experience, as well as knowledge of shipping industry practices; plus, 2 years of clerk experience, with solid computer and data enter skills. Work Ethic: Ability to work independently and collaboratively while meeting goals in a timely manner. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word; ability to learn and use the company's purchasing and inventory software; strong internet research capabilities; analytical capabilities. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Competencies: Motivated, driven, adaptable, results driven and a strong mental aptitude that includes thinking critically and solving problems. Effective team leadership and initiative with collaboration and team orientation. Physical Requirements: Physical labor, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching and frequently lifting and regularlymoving items over 50 lbs. Must be able to bend and lift, up to 70 lbs., and be able to walk stairs. Warehouse employees must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance. Employees must also be able to concentrate on their tasks. The ability to understand and communicate information is essential. The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support for effectiveness and safety. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position also requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina, strength and endurance. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work typically are 8:00am 5:00pm but may vary according to company needs. This position may require long hours and weekend work.
