Job Description Job Description CVOR CERTIFIED SURGICAL FIRST ASSISTANT Job Title: Surgical First Assistant – Surgical Services Rate: Up to $2650.00 weekly Location: Atlanta, GA Day Shift (12H) 13 or 26-week contract Qualifications & Requirements Education Graduate from an accredited surgical first assistant program. Experience Requires 5 years of recent CVOR Surgical First Assistant experience. Cardiac, Vascular, Endovascular, Thoracic experience & CSFA, NBSTSA or NCCSA Proven experience as a Certified Surgical First Assistant. Licenses/Certifications Current certification as a Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) in the state of employment. AHA BLS certification required. Key Responsibilities Assist in the positioning, prepping, and draping of patients for surgical procedures. Follow established surgical techniques during the operation under the direct supervision of the surgeon. Ensure all equipment is properly always sterilized and maintain a sterile field. Provide retraction, suturing, and other technical functions during surgery. Perform wound management and secure drains and tubes. Prepare and apply dressings under the direction of the surgeon. Assist in the immediate postoperative care of the patient as directed by the surgeon. Follow established healthcare protocols and safety standards. Maintain patient confidentiality and respect patient's rights.
