Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Albany, GA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,056 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 17 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Albany, Georgia, 31701! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Type: Stepdown Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years in Stepdown in an acute care setting is required without exception. License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS preferred Must-Have: Must be within a strict 75-mile radius rule. Description: This is a cardiac stepdown unit. Nurse aides ratio is 1 to 10. Patient ratios are 1 to 5. The unit has 44 beds, including eight semi-private rooms. Charge Nurse is available. The weekend requirement is every other weekend. Scrub color is Caribbean Blue. Must be flexible and willing to work holidays and days around holidays. Tele monitoring is done using Phillips equipment. Nurses must read and interpret cardiac strips. Drips include Cardizem (titrated), amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine renal dose, lasix, bumex, heparin, primicor, and vaprosol. The unit uses BiPap and CPAP only and does not include full vents. Hospitalists or intensivists are available in-house 24/7. IV team and pharmacy services are available 24/7. Shifts begin at 6:45 AM and 6:45 PM. Floating to the ICU may be required, but only stepdown patients will be taken unless ICU experience is noted. Floor-specific orientation will occur over three shifts. Common diagnoses include CABG, cardiovascular surgeries, and various related procedures. Fast turnover of rooms is typical, with an average census of 32-38 patients. Discharges and admissions may reach 12-16 patients on busy days. Attendance is important, and flexibility with floating is expected. Dress code includes having natural-colored hair, no artificial nails, no facial piercings, and no visible tattoos.
