Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is currently seeking a Principal Quality Engineer in Warner Robins, Georgia. The selected candidate will be supporting our C-130 avionics Maintenance and Modernization activities. Come be a part of our team! The System Modernization and Engineering Support (SMES) business unit (BU) provides innovative aircraft platform solutions to a broad range of military and derivative aircraft. The SMES BU includes the Maintenance and Modernization operating unit in Warner Robins GA and the Sustainment Engineering & Technical Center (SETC) in Oklahoma City OK. Telecommuting is not an option for this position. This role is contingent upon award, and is expected to start in April of 2019. This position will be part of the Mission Assurance (MA) team supporting management and engineering to modify and upgrade aging flight decks and mission systems on a variety of aircraft. Responsibilities: * Performs inspections of products to determine conformance to military, commercial, and/or contractual standards. * Computes, analyzes, and interprets numerical data for understanding and addressing process issues and developing solutions. * Applies technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts to analyze and audit our products, processes, and capabilities. * Reviews hardware-related technical documentation/drawings including formal deliverables. * Possesses the ability and skill to review and interpret regulatory requirements including specific Quality Assurance (QA) activities. * Works with Global Supply Chain to manage key suppliers, ensuring their performance and driving process improvements to ensure on-time delivery of quality products. * Performs process and product audits plus capacity assessments to ensure the supplier's processes are robust and capable. * Understands general contract performance principles in a DOD environment. * Develops and mentor new MA performers. * Reduces and prevent material defect occurrences including verification of material defect claims. * Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity with ingenuity, creativity, and innovation. TSWR Basic Qualifications: * Must have one of the following: * Bachelor's degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience * Master's degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience * PhD in a STEM discipline * Must be able to work on-site in Warner Robins, Georgia. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with quality assurance functions and inspections associated with military avionics development and production * Experience working in an ISO 9001 / AS9100-certified Quality Management System * Experience with CAD processes and drawing reviews * Microsoft Office proficiency * Configuration management experience including configuration control boards * First Article Inspection experience * ISO 9001/AS9100 auditor experience * Experience with group collaboration tools such as ShareCenter/SharePoint * Experience with the C-130 aircraft Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
