Engineer Job Description We are seeking a Mechanical Project
Engineer to work closely with our internal concept design team and
external vendors. The role involves bridging the gap in design
verification for finalized mechanical designs of Material Handling
Equipment (MHE). You will be responsible for collaborating with
vendors to conduct design verification checks, integrating
equipment, and managing requests for proposals (RFPs) by
considering timelines, costs, and quality. Additionally, you will
handle escalations to stakeholders as needed. Responsibilities
Attend and consult on all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) calls
for the programs. Collaborate with the internal design team to
provide approved design-related solutions. Provide weekly updates
on the Engineering Team's progress at a project level. Escalate
project-specific risks and track status from discovery to
resolution. Participate in meetings with direct manager to discuss
open items and project risk levels. Essential Skills Bachelor’s
degree in Industrial Design or Engineering-related field. 4 years
of experience in mechanical design and manufacture, familiar with
the entire development process from design concept to installation.
Experience in developing and using quality assurance standards.
Strong teamwork skills and experience with vendor management.
Proficiency in .dwg files and utilizing AutoCAD (minimum 2 years).
Ability to travel once a month to site (1-3 days at a time).
Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with
upstream/downstream component changes within systems engineering.
Ability to add capacity or retrofit inbound areas for new equipment
and assist in rearranging existing equipment. Familiarity with
automation, material handling, and conveyor systems. Job Type &
Location This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA. Pay
and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
