Job Description:
Compensation Grade: 10 BASIC PURPOSE: Prices and hedges Advances
for the Sales team, negotiates and executes debt and derivative
transactions to fund the Bank. Plans and executes funding and
hedging strategies to generate low-cost funding. ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS: Uses analytical tools and market price discovery to
price structured Advances. Provides indicative pricing to Member
Sales. Negotiates and executes derivative transactions to support
structured advances. Plans, negotiates, and executes funding and
hedging transactions with the Office of Finance, debt underwriters,
and derivative counterparties to fund and hedge the Bank. Sets
daily Advance rates using the Bank’s internal applications,
Bloomberg, and data from the Office of Finance and other market
sources. Participates in managing the Banks Daily Balance Sheet
Liquidity position by issuing debt and monitoring Advances and
Investments transactions so that all cash flow movements are
captured accurately and timely. Analyzes risk positions, formulates
strategies, and executes derivative and capital market transactions
to fund and hedge mortgage purchases. Assists in the development
and integration of new products and systems in efforts to
continuously improve service to our Shareholders. Provides the
sales force and management with regular and detailed market color
and commentary. Provides the Bank’s funding desk with insight into
current market conditions and opportunities. Responsible for
creating and delivering presentations on a variety of topics
related to the business of the Federal Home Loan Banks. OTHER
RESPONSIBILITIES Assists in the analysis of the Banks Investment
portfolios . Responsibilities include analyzing MBS, Fed Funds,
Agency Investments and Treasuries for potential inclusion in the
Banks Investment portfolios. Assists in the analysis of the Bank’s
daily liquidity position, monitoring cashflows from Assets and
Liabilities to accurately capture the Banks liquidity position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Outstanding initiative and
independent problem-solving abilities. Ability to exercise sound
independent judgment in time-sensitive situations. Must possess
strong communication and relationship building skills for effective
interaction with trading counterparties. Proficiency in Python,
Microsoft Excel as well as at least one major fixed-income analytic
system (e.g., Findur, Principia). Experience using Bloomberg is
preferred. Knowledge of hedge accounting is preferred but not
required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS A bachelor’s degree and two to four
years’ experience in trading financial products . Knowledge of the
capital markets as well as understanding of derivative operations
is necessary or the equivalent combination of education and
experience. Work Location: This individual must reside within
commuting distance from our Atlanta, GA office. This position may
not be filled in New Jersey, either in-person or remotely. Work
